Charles Etcherson stands out in the music world, blending skill and soul on the keyboard like a lizard's graceful movements. He's known for his complex time signatures and ability to span genres from Jazz to Hip Hop, adapting effortlessly to any musical environment.

Detroit, MI, known for its musical legacy, is where Charles' journey began. Inspired by his mother's church music, he ventured into music at age 10. “Listening to my mom rehearsing her music for church first inspired me. I took private piano lessons as a young boy briefly. My first professional gig was with James Taylor and Soul Vibrations. I was so young that I had to stay in a beer cellar until showtime," he shares.   
 

The gift of a Fender Rhodes from his mother marked a turning point. Mentored by Charles “Chazzy” Green of Instant Insanity, Charles' talent flourished. He opened for Edwin Starr, played with Detroit greats like Mad Dog & The Pups,  and eventually shared stages with The Chilites, Al Green, and others.

Touring with Chairman of The Board,  Charles performed across the US and Europe, including a memorable show with Paul McCartney and Wings. His performances spanned from the US to St. Croix and Canada, influenced by his musically gifted parents.

Collaborating with artists like James Carter, Fernando Sanders & Humberto" Nengue" Hernandez, Charles remains a significant figure in music. Influenced by musicians from John Coltrane to Hiromi Uehara, he identifies with Fusion due to its eclectic nature.

Charles sees music as a universal, evolving language. His compositions reflect his life and emotions, aiming to quench the thirst for unique music shared by many.
